2025 Ambassador - Richelle Chapman
Richelle ran her first 5k in 2021 and then over the past 3 years has progressed to 10k, half marathon and to the 30k at Cairns 50 in 2024. And now she's on her way to her first marathon at the 2024 Cairns Marathon Festival!
Supported by her husband and sons, Richelle balances work with study, life, family and run training. In 2025, she is eyeing off the possibility of either a 70.3 or Cairns 50. Either way, Richelle is a great ambassador for our running community and our event!
2025 Ambassador - Rob Johnstone
Local runner Rob has been a regular at Cairns 50 Community Running Festival over the past few years and we are excited to welcome him aboard as an ambassador for 2025!
Beginning his running journey in trail running, more recently he has turned to triathlon and is looking forward to lining up at 70.3 Cairns and the The Guzzler 50k in 2024. As a stage 4 bowel cancer survivor, Rob has learnt to run for a cause and for more than himself - he is an inspiration for many! And in 2025, he is looking forward to inspiring others in running the 50k!
2025 Ambassador - Abigail White
Relatively new to Cairns, Abi quickly showed her class finishing 2nd in the Cairns 30 in 2024. Running since she could walk, Abi followed in the footsteps of her father who would take her and her brother out on the trails from a young age.
Abi juggles training around full-time work as a radiation therapist. Her love for running extends to the community and the way that the sport brings people of all kinds together. At the moment she is preparing for her first ever marathon and in 2025 is looking towards lining up in the 50k at Cairns 50.
2025 Ambassador - Dave Macfarlane
Having started running only 2 years ago, Dave has quickly taken to the sport and heavily involved himself in his local Mission Beach running community. You can regularly find him on the trails or at his local paradise run, and he loves the fitness that comes with running.
The fastest Dave has ever run...coming face-to-face with a Cassowary on a trail run! On his journey to Cairns 50 in 2025, you can expect to see him out adventuring at events like "On a Mission" and "Grin 'n' Bear It".
